Just let go

The trend is clear: for a few years now, patios and kitchen gardens have been transforming into second living rooms and more: the garden as a spa oasis with lounge furniture, garden saunas and green cosy corners; the patio as a protected green room – with natural privacy screens provided by potted plants or pergolas covered with wild vine or wisteria. These keep curious glances out of the relaxation area.
And water, too, should always be present in a spa areas, as the rippling of a stream or the subtle bubbling of a fountain soothe us and calm our souls. In addition, discreetly-positioned lamps and indirect lighting will generate a cosy atmosphere.

Recovery and relaxation

The terms “smart garden” and automated garden are frequently heard in connection with relaxation in the garden. Even if automation makes us think of machines and noise – robotic lawnmowers and irrigation systems meanwhile do their work in the garden quietly and independently. In this way, they fulfil our desire for increased quality of life and well-being; control, independence and convenience, with modern products and systems which can easily be operated via remote control or App. Statistics show that many households already have one or more smart home solutions. Denmark ranks highest (2017) with 18.4 percent of all households, followed by the Netherlands (16 %), Great Britain (14.9 %), Germany (11.7 %), Austria (11.6 %) and Switzerland (11.1 %). It is therefore easy to make the jump to the concept of a smart garden.

Smart systems make everyday life easier

For example, the Gardena smart App can take over the operation of robotic lawnmowers, water controls, soil moisture sensors or garden illuminations – from wherever you are. Those who love smart gardens can supplement the system with further smart products such as a smart Automatic Home and Garden Pump or a smart Power Adapter.
Recently, the Gardena smart system has even been linked with various smart home devices and services such as the safety monitor on the wall of a house. That’s a major advantage when you are on holiday. In addition, connection according to the IFTTT = If this then that principle is now possible. Users can connect the Apps and devices they require from a supported selection. Through these connections, an almost endless range of individual new functions are generated for the Gardena smart system.
