Gardena closes the last gap in green electricity Now 100% electricity from renewable energy sources Since January 2017, the German sites in Ulm, Heuchlingen and Niederstotzingen have been supplied with 100 percent electricity from renewable sources. This status was also achieved at the Czech locations in Třinec in 2017, with Vrbno following in the following year. The last gaps have so far existed due to other contractual partners involved, who had to be taken into account, at the Laichingen logistics location in Germany and in the production facilities in Bruntál in the Czech Republic and Dandenong in Australia. These gaps have been closed with the turn of the year. While so far only 98 percent of the electricity requirements of all Gardena sites could be covered by renewable energies, in future it will be a full 100 percent. This means that an important milestone in the “Sustainovate” sustainability program has already been completed. Symbolic image: Unsplash/Appolinary Kalashnikova
