Bird Buddy wins GARDENA garden award 2022 The award for entrepreneurs, inventors and founders has been presented at the spoga+gafa trade fair in Cologne on 19 June 2022. The four finalists have present themselves and their concepts to the jury. The spoga+gafa trade fair, the German DIY trade trade association (BHB), the trade magazine diy and the magazine “Schöner Wohnen” are again participating as partners in the competition this year. The German Garden Industry Association (IVG) and the Husqvarna Group are also represented on the expert jury. Finally, Bird Buddy from the United States convinced the jury most and received the GARDENA garden award 2022. Bird Buddy Inc (USA) – Bird Buddy has created the world’s first smart bird feeder with AI based species recognition, live stream + photos curated in an app with notifications of joy. – https://mybirdbuddy.com The jury said about this year's winners: "Bird Buddy brings the life in the garden to you wherever you are and is contributing to the knowledge of biodiversity a garden sustains. It is a truely smart product with a clever modular hardware and software design. They show us how communities can be built and gamified. They really put a smile in the faces of the jury." The prize is endowed with a total of 10,000 euros as well as prizes in kind, including a special prize, donated by spoga+gafa trade fair, for the most sustainable idea. In addition, the German Garden Industry Association (IVG) offers the winners the opportunity to present themselves to the specialist audience as part of the IVG Garden Market Forum. The first-placed winner will also be presented in detail in the trade magazine diy. The special prize by spoga+gafa goes to "The Plant Box" The special prize for innovative solutions sponsored by spoga+gafa goes to the startup „The Plant Box“ whose service makes ordinal balcony plants as easy as ordering pizza.
