After long periods of drought, water quickly becomes a valuable and expensive resource. During hot, arid summers, the use of fresh water for watering the garden might even be banned. Keeping your own water reserves, for example in rain water tanks, cisterns or a private well, is a welcome alternative. In this way, amateur gardeners can continue to water flowers, plants and the lawn. GARDENA has expanded and optimised its range of rumps with the new, powerful Rain Water Tank Pumps and Submersible Pressure Pumps.

On the new GARDENA Rain Water Tank Pumps 4000/1 and 4700/2, a float switch prevents the pumps from running dry. The 4700/2 is also available with integrated dry-running protection as an automatic version, which automatically switches on and then off again when water is drawn. An integrated pre-filter prevents clogging of the nozzles and damage. It can be easily removed for cleaning. A premium aluminium telescopic lance with a control valve transfers the water safely to the garden hose without losing water over the edge of the barrel.

The new Rain Water Tank Pumps 4700/2 and 4700/2 automatic are both equipped with a robust, compact stainless steel body. With a maximum flow rate of 4,700 l/h and a pressure of 2.3 bar, the pumps can provide even large sprinklers, such as the GARDENA AquaZoom, with water without problems.

The GARDENA Submersible Pressure Pumps are the perfect, low-noise solution for pumping water out of a cistern or deep well. The 5900/4 inox, 5900/4 inox automatic and 6100/5 inox automatic models have a stainless steel housing and connecting thread. This ensures that they have a long service life and work reliably under water. The automatic devices also feature a patented low quantity programme. This innovation enables the pumps to be used with small-scale consumers, such as drip irrigation systems or washing machines, and also enables reliable detection of leaks to prevent water damage or unnecessary water loss.

To prevent the pump from becoming damaged as a result of running dry when the water level is too low, either a float switch or an integrated dry-running safety system stops the pump from running, depending on the model. An integrated pre-filter ensures that the Submersible Pressure Pump always draws in clean water. Deposits that gather on the bottom of the cistern or well over time can clog the pump’s filter. This can be prevented by connecting an optional floating suction kit directly under the surface of the water. This means that the cistern and filter need to be cleaned less frequently. An optional set for the floating water extraction unit is available as an accessory.

Incidentally, GARDENA offers a 40-month warranty on its pumps. In order for this warranty to be valid, you must register your product within three months of purchase at www.gardena.com/warranty.
