Plastics Recycling Awards Europe is the
GARDENA EcoLine product range. “These high-quality gardening tools made with recycled materials bring a new meaning to sustainability in the garden,” the jury concluded.
The award was presented on 11 May 2023 in connection with the
Plastics Recycling Show Europe in Amsterdam, an exhibition with over 320 exhibitors and a conference designed specifically for plastics recycling professionals and all those engaged in the sustainable use of plastics.
“In the six years these awards have been running, it has been so pleasing to follow the advances that are being made in the recycling of plastics for high quality, branded consumer goods in everyday use,” said Matt Barber, Global Events Director of PRS Europe.
Uncompromised quality and durabilityIn the 2022 gardening year, a real milestone in the sustainability strategy was born of much effort and many years of research and development work — the introduction of the GARDENA EcoLine range. It consists of hand tools and watering products, with at least 65 percent recycled material in the plastic parts of each product. At the same time, they convince with their uncompromising quality, high durability, attractive design and ultimate ease of use. This year, the range has been expanded to include the new EcoLine Hose, completing the field of watering applications.
This commitment has already been rewarded with the German Sustainability Award Design 2022 and the award of the German state of Baden-Württemberg as a positive example of resource efficiency.
In good companyAwards in the other categories were won by Electrolux (Automotive, Electrical or Electronic Product), Polypipe Civils (Building & Construction Product), Compo (Plastic Packaging Product), Avient Corporation (Product Technology Innovation) and Engel Austria (Recycling Machinery Innovation). Manfred Hackl, CEO of Erema Group was honored as the Plastics Recycling Ambassador of the year.
