GARDENA unveils new underground Sprinklersystem for 2023

Relaxing on the sun lounger and enjoying the garden while the lawn is being watered is already a daily routine for gardening enthusiasts with a GARDENA Sprinklersystem. The Pop-up Sprinklers are permanently installed below the ground and connected to the water supply via a pipe system. They water the desired area and disappear back into the lawn when the job is done.

Irrigation couldn’t be more convenient. There is no need to regularly set up and dismantle a sprinkler. When the Pop-up Sprinklers are not in use, they are almost invisible. This means there are no tripping hazards on the lawn due to hoses lying around, and that there are also no obstacles that any kind of lawnmower have to avoid.

Economical consumption through optimal distribution

For the coming gardening season, GARDENA has completely revised the range of sprinklers within the Sprinklersystem and further improved their handling, installation and water consumption.

Depending on the model, the Pop-up Sprinklers are suitable for a watering area of 30 to a maximum of 180 square metres. The new MD40, MD80, MD180 and MD40/300 models are equipped with a rotary nozzle. Instead of producing fine drops, they distribute the water with gentle rotating rays. This results in uniform irrigation with a low, constantly applied quantity of water. The water can seep away well and be absorbed by the lawn grasses; surface run-off is prevented. In this way, water can be saved at the same time. With the MD40/300 Pop-up Sprinkler, irrigation is also possible over taller plants thanks to a longer sprinkler piston.

The range of the individual sprinklers can be easily adjusted thanks to the new ergonomic design, as can the watering sector. With the MD models, this can be done without tools from 80 to 360 degrees. All new GARDENA Pop-up Sprinklers have an integrated dirt filter.

A new pressure regulator rounds off the revised range. It compensates for pressure fluctuations and filters the water at the same time. This provides additional protection against damage to the individual components in the system, as the ideal operating pressure is achieved for every watering sector in the garden.

Optimum water supply pre-programmed

The underground pipe system is very easy to install thanks to the patented "Quick and Easy" connection technology: Plug the pipe and connector together by simply turning the screw joint; the connection can be fixed and also released again. This saves time and effort when laying the pipes. The threaded connection is self-sealing, so no additional sealing material is required. A large number of system modules enables absolute flexibility, so that the irrigation system can be customised for the garden.

In combination with a water control system, such as smart Irrigation Control, different watering schedules for up to six independent watering zones in the garden can be easily created and controlled using the smart App. In combination with a smart Sensor that measures soil moisture, irrigation becomes even more efficient. If the soil is still moist enough, irrigation is suspended, therefore saving water. Another option is to dynamically adjust the watering times via the changing times of sunrise and sunset over the course of the gardening season. This is done automatically on demand based on the location of the garden. As the smart system combines irrigation and lawn care in one system, the watering and mowing times of the robotic lawnmower are automatically coordinated.
