The new GARDENA smart SILENO sense Robotic Lawnmowers with camera-led AI navigation simplify lawn care and ensure precise mowing. Equipped with smart functions, the robotic lawnmowers support the maintenance of lawns of up to 600 square metres.

Thanks to camera-led AI navigation, the installation of the new robotic lawnmowers is extremely convenient. There is no need for a boundary wire, nor does it require additional antennas or beacons to be installed in the garden. Automatic edge detection is carried out via the integrated camera and is supplemented by satellite-based position data. To ensure fast and precise lawn-edge detection and object recognition, the Vision AI is powered by a Jetson module from NVIDIA, the world leader in advanced computing technologies.

Easy to install – no boundary wire required

To start up, all you have to do is place the charging station in the garden and connect and configure the mower with the free GARDENA smart App via the home Wi-Fi or mobile network connection. Thanks to the already integrated SIM card, lifetime mobile connectivity is included for free. Using an app as a remote control, the mower is then guided along the edge of the lawn during the initial installation and gets to know the mowing area. After that, the robotic lawnmower learns every day, evaluates the current conditions in real time and reacts dynamically to changes in the garden.

Mowing close to the edge

The smart SILENO sense detects different lawn edges such as flower beds, paving stones, walls or fences and cuts precisely with the Trim-to-Edge function. For this purpose, the cutting unit is placed at the rear of the mower. If the robotic lawnmower approaches a house wall or fence, the mower turns. Through this rotation, the robotic lawnmower glides smoothly along the edge of the lawn and cuts blades of grass right to the edge.

Reliable mowing with camera – detecting obstacles

With the help of the integrated camera, the robotic lawnmower recognises objects and can distinguish and assign them from each other thanks to intelligent image processing. For example, the robotic lawnmower knows that it can mow over fallen leaves, while a branch or toy lying on the lawn is recognised as an obstacle and driven around. To protect the data, all camera recordings remain stored exclusively on the mower and cannot be accessed anywhere else or via the cloud.

Customised lawn care with LONA Intelligence and GARDENA-assisted mode

With the help of localization and navigation technology (LONA), the mower orients itself to the conditions and adapts the lawn care individually for the different areas. It maps the lawn, which can be divided into zones in the smart App. Individual mowing frequencies can then be set for these different areas.

A garden grows and transforms and is exposed to the weather. With the GARDENA-assisted mode, the mowing schedules are automatically adapted to the needs of the lawn based on weather data and growth patterns – without any manual intervention.
