Pär Åström, President Gardena Division, will leave Husqvarna Group by the end of June. He has decided to accept a career opportunity outside the company and will return to Sweden with his family for this purpose.

“We thank Pär Åström for his contributions to Gardena and Husqvarna Group. During Pär Åström’s leadership the Gardena division has strengthened its position the global leader in residential watering and as a leading gardening brand,” says Pavel Hajman, CEO and President Husqvarna Group.

Within Husqvarna Group, Åström was at first responsible for strategy development before in 2018 he assumed leadership of Gardena Division and became a member of Group Management. Since then, sales exceeded the mark of one billion euros for the first time, mainly by growth from internationalization via focus markets, innovation and channel expansion. Gardena has made large investments in expanding our capacity and in automation technology. Through the acquisition of Orbit in 2021 Gardena Division became the global leader in residential watering and smart watering. Last year a reorganization in five business units as well as a “Go-to-Market” unit was executed to reflect the division’s growth.

“The past few years have been very eventful. During these exciting times we have managed to successfully develop Gardena, Orbit, and Flymo further and position all three brands well for the future. I look back on this with pleasure. We are now looking forward to the 2024 gardening season, which I will be supporting until the summer,” says Pär Åström.

The recruitment of Pär’s successor will start immediately.

Husqvarna Group’s report for the fourth quarter and full year 2023 will be published on February 2, 2024.
