Garden owners sometimes struggle to find the right tool to generate enough power to chop and split wood. The new GARDENA hatchets, axes, splitting axe and splitting hammer have been designed to tackle many splitting challenges with the required cutting performance and offer a 25-year warranty.
One tool, many tasks
The GARDENA Universal Hatchet is a compact companion for smaller outdoor tasks. With a large sickle-shaped, steel blade and hammer function, the hatchet is designed to chop wood, split logs and easily drive in tent pegs and nails. The double-hardened steel blade stays sharp cut after cut, with a high-quality coating that resists sticking. The hatchet is available with a 35 or 40 centimetre-length handle.
Powerful across versatile splitting tasks
GARDENA's Universal Axes are designed to deliver powerful, controlled splitting performance – from felling small trees to splitting firewood – thanks to its large sickle-shaped, steel blade and long handle length. The double‑hardened steel blade with its coating maintains sharpness and delivers consistently clean cuts over time. The coated axe head reduces friction and protects the axe head from corrosion while its metal shaft offers protection against missed strikes.
Splitting firewood is hard work and frustrating when logs don’t break evenly after several strikes. However, the Splitting Axe’s wedge-shaped steel blade allows gardeners to split wood up to 30 centimetres in diameter and break it apart with just one strike The fiberglass-reinforced handle, combined with an overmolded head-to-handle connection, is designed to enhance durability and support reliable performance – even under high-impact use.
Specifically designed for splitting extra-large and tough logs up to one metre, the GARDENA Splitting Hammer offers a 3.5-kilogram head weight for powerful force. The large hammer surface at the back helps to drive splitting wedges deep into the tough logs. Meanwhile, the ‘turning nose’ - a hook on the front of the axe – enables users to securely position logs before and after splitting without having to bend down.
