The GARDENA PowerShred Silent 40/36V automatically increases power for bulkier branches
Chipped material from shredded branches and twigs serve as organic mulch, which is spread in a thin layer around shrubs, flower beds and trees. The benefits for the garden: as a layer on the soil surface, it reduces evaporation and helps keep the soil moist for longer. At the same time, it blocks the sunlight needed for weed seeds to germinate, thereby suppressing their growth. As the material slowly decomposes, it also releases nutrients into the soil.
Power to mulch
Many gardeners want the freedom to shred cuttings wherever they are in the garden, without being restricted by the location of a plug socket, making larger outdoor spaces easier to maintain. The GARDENA cordless shredder PowerShred Silent 40/36V reduces large branches of up to 40 millimetres into mulch on the spot thanks to a hardened steel drum. The shredder is powered by two 18 V system batteries and offers flexible battery compatibility across more than 150 products from over 10 brands as part of the Power For All Alliance1.
For thicker branches, the corded PowerShred Silent 45 is able to process offshoots up to 45 millimetres thanks to its 3000 Watt motor.
Smooth shredding
Shredding can often be interrupted and delayed by an equipment blockage. However, both new models prevent users from having to pull out debris from the shredder. An automatic unblocking system detects jams and reverses the mechanism to keep material moving.
It also offers easy access maintenance points to make cleaning and inspecting simple. The adjustment knob helps maintain the optimal cutting clearance, delivering consistent shredding performance while reducing unnecessary wear on the cutting drum.
Collecting and clearing smarter
Frequent stops to check and empty the debris container can interrupt the flow of garden maintenance. A transparent 60-litre collection box allows gardeners to monitor fill levels at a glance, reducing unnecessary interruptions. When full, the integrated roller wheel makes the container easier to transport, helping minimise strain during emptying.
In addition, the collection box provides a magnetic lock safety feature to prevent the shredder from turning on until it’s fully closed.
